The Notias Wind Quintet

Notias

In 2003 a few musicians had the idea to break new ground in the world of classical music. The main focus of their vision ranged from tango music in its traditional style up to complex compositions by Piazzolla and other modern composers from South America.

The quintet consists of flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn and bassoon. All five musicians work as soloists, orchestral musicians and lecturers.

Their greatest passion, however, is chamber music.

There is no doubt of how much these musicians enjoy to interpret the fervent and rhythmic sounds of the tango with all its pathos. They have clearly gained the unanimous appraisal of the audience.

In addition to their love for tango, the quintet also enjoys all kinds of classical music.

The Tango is a sad thought that you can dance”. (Enrique Santos Discépolo)

Trio adAgio (Oboe-Trumpet-Organ)

Trio adAgio

The trio Ad Agio is another musical ensemble around Fabio Croce.

It consists of organ (played by district cantor Wolfgang Ehni), trumpet (played by Bern Bogisch) and oboe (Fabio Croce) – a chamber musical formation that seems to be one of its kind.

There is only a short list of original compositions which increases the standard of this trio to rehearse for several concert programmes.

The fineness of the tones is another outstanding feature of this trio as well as the differences between oboe and trumpet. The latter present themselves in a completely different light with virtuosic accompaniment by the organist. This way, a special atmosphere of warmth and romanticism as well as one of durability and fanfare can be generated within a piece of music.

The trio Ad Agio is very versatile in its performances and succeeds in uniting ceremonial as well as sensual tones.

Trio LaCroMa

Trio LaCroMa

The rare composition of oboe, French horn and piano are united in the trio LaCroMa. Its members are passionate chamber musicians and enjoy the challenge of this rare formation.

Great encouragement from professors of the Karlsruhe Conservatory of Music as well as an enthusiastic audience reward LaCroMa’s highly acclaimed performances.

In 2002, LaCroMma was awarded the second prize at the international contest of Cortemilia (I).

LaCroMa’s repertoire ranges from the music of romanticism to modern music and is even more notable by means of original pieces from South America that have been written especially for LaCroMa by outstanding composers.
